Susan Smith Educator, Facilitator sjsmith43@home.com |
"Facilitation is like conducting an orchestra from the back of the hall rather than from the podium." Listen to Susan Smith share her passion--counseling and working with students with disabilities and those who are economically and learning disadvantaged for the past 25 years. Over the years these students taught her strength of heart, persistence in spite of pain, and not to enable, but to expect the best of them. As an Educational Administrator, she was blessed with a warm, caring, and innovative staff. Because of their genuine desire, along with hers, to work as a team with students and to be "guides on the side", they all learned how to facilitate together. "Whether working with an exceptional staff, students with mental disorders, addictive personalities, college administrators, statewide leaders, individuals through their dying process, or family and friends struggling with life/family issues, the tools of facilitation are the keys to a healthy process, a successful transition and a successful outcome."
